Come travel back now to Bethlehem,
to the time when our Lord came to live on earth.
Bethlehem crowded, inns all were full
when the couple arrived seeking shelter.
Mary her baby due, time had come
for the birth, shelter must be found.
So in a stable bare Christ was born,
Christ had come into the world.
Star shining brightly, marking the place,
Mary held in her arms the true Son of God.
Wise men were travelling led by the star,
bearing gifts to present to the King of Kings.
For Christ had come for us bringing hope,
giving life, such a gift of love.
To be a sacrifice for us all,
Christ had come into the world.
Shepherds were watching, tending their flock,
when an angel from God came with joyful news.
While in the stable cradled in hay,
slept the child who had come to redeem us all.
This blessed babe was born on this night,
Long ago, King forever more.
To be a sacrifice for us all,
Christ had come into the world.
